Atletico Madrid are swooping for Argentine goalkeeper Alex Werner.

Marca says Werner could be an Atletico Madrid player within a week, with the Champions League runners-up very close to sealing his transfer.

According to club sources, it would be a small investment for the Vicente Calderon club to bring the highly-rated Atletico Rafaela shot-stopper to La Liga.

Although the club is currently in a strong position in terms of goalkeeping with Jan Oblak and Miguel Angel Moya both in the squad, the 20-year-old Argentine would be a bet for the future and could be loaned out in the meantime.

The Madrid club did a similar thing two years ago with Portuguese goalkeeper Andre Moreira, who has been out on loan since signing.
