Atletico Madrid striker Diego Forlan says he'd take Sergio Aguero over Barcelona star Lionel Messi every time.

Messi single-handedly destroyed Arsenal's European dreams with all four goals in Barcelona's Champions League quarter-final second-leg victory.

"Messi or Aguero? I prefer Aguero because he is my team-mate, but we must recognise that both are great players, talented and a with great futures," said Forlan.

"It's an important game and there those who always dream of playing a big rival like Valencia and also at home with highly motivated people. We hope to get a result and move to the next round."
