Atletico Madrid striker Fernando Torres was delighted with victory over Sporting Gijon.

Despite only coming on as a second-half substitute, the veteran attacker managed to bag a brace to kickstart his personal scoring tally for the 2016/17 season.

"It's pleasing that all the strikers join in [the scoring], and that those who come on to change the dynamics do so positively," Torres said ahead of switching sights to their trip to Barcelona.

"It's a good time to play Barcelona, our toughest opponents in recent years.

"There's never really a good time, but when you're winning and playing good football it gives you confidence."
