Atletico Madrid have completed the signing of Danubio defender Jose Maria Gimenez.

The 18-year-old centre-back passed his medical with Atletico on Wednesday before signing a five-year contact with the Spanish club.

Atletico sporting director Jose Luis Perez Caminero described Gimenez, who has been called up to the Uruguay Under-20 side, as a "natural talent, a fast defender who uses the ball well, a good marker and classy on the ball."
