Atletico Madrid want to extend the stay of Italian goalkeeper Christian Abbiati into next season.
Despite interest from Lazio, Atletico are planning to open talks with AC Milan about extending Abbiati's loan into season 2008/09.
Abbiati is set for an extended first team run with Atletico No1 Leo Franco facing several months out with injury.
