Atletico Madrid have secured the outstanding money owed by Flamengo over the sale of defender Carlos Gamarra over seven years ago.
Atletico chief Miguel Angel Gil Marin returned from Brazil with an agreement that Flamengo will cough up the remaining £1.4 million from his original fee settled in 2000.
Flamengo must cough up the cash by a July deadline.
