Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo is delighted they have managed to increase Sergio Aguero's buyout clause to £35 million.

He said: "We have done this to avoid all the continuous talk about whether a certain club comes in for the player. The rise to £35 million is an amount that will cause many clubs to drop plans of bidding for Aguero.

"That the player interests clubs at this amount, for us, is good. But we want it so the player is not distracted or disturbed. We want him centred solely on his game. That he does not think about offers, which in 90 per cent of cases do not lead to anything.

"Aguero is player of Atletico and will be ours for a long time."
