Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo has urged fans to get behind Jose Antonio Reyes after his return to the club.

Reyes had hoped to sign for Benfica over the summer, but a deal could not be agreed.

"Reyes has a bad reputation for no reason," said Cerezo. "Anyway, the whole stadium will not boo, just a small group of people, who also have insulted me, often without reason.

"Insulting an Atleti player does no good, it only harms us. If they want to whistle, they should do so when the game is finished."
