Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo has hit out at critics of their playing style.

Cerezo is fed up with people calling his Atlético side violent, and he believes the criticism is intended to destabilise the team.

"Atlético is a great team, too right, with brilliant players. People who attack us for being violent, are people who don't know how to play," said the Atleti president to AS.

"Our players are sportsmen, sporting and noble. And we've shown we know how to win well and lose well. When we win we like to be congratulated, in the same way we've congratulated others when they've won."
