Atletico Madrid are planning to launch a bid to bring Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso back to Spain.
DiarioSport says Atletico see Xabi as the ideal solution to their problems in midfield this season. Atletico have the cash to convince Liverpool to sell, but much will depend on the Spanish Liga club qualifying for the Champions League next season.
