Atletico Madrid midfielder Koke admits he resisted interest from Manchester United over the summer.

United as well as La Liga giants Barcelona were weighing up moves to activate the midfielder's £48m release clause.

But Koke said: "We must thank the interest of Barcelona and other teams, but I'm happy because I want to be here, I've been here all my life and it was not time to go."
