Atletico Madrid are launching a bid for Villarreal defender Diego Godin.
Marca says Atletico are ready to meet Godin's €18 million buyout clause to bring the Uruguay international to Madrid.
Atletico are to make the offer this week - just days after closing a deal for Deportivo La Coruna fullback Luis Filipe.
Villarreal are ready to sell, having already opened talks with Valencia about signing Carlos Marchena as a direct replacement for Godin.
