Atletico Madrid are set to make an offer for Porto midfielder Lucho Gonzalez.

Jesus Garcia Pitarch, the Atletico sports director, has left their training base in Mexico to return to Spain today - so fueling talk that he will deliver a bid for Gonzalez this week.

The Argentina international wants to leave Porto this summer and has declared a preference for Atletico. Porto will sell if an offer of £10 million arrives.
