Atletico Madrid are launching a bid for Fluminense midfielder Thiago Neves.

AS says Atletico are ready to meet Flu's £11 million asking price for the Brazil international, who is currently in Beijing for the Olympic Games.

Atletico president Enrique Cerezo admitted last week they were still in the market for a playmaker and Thiago has emerged as the player they want before the summer market closes.
