Atletico Madrid are seeking a replacement for sports director Jesus Garcia Pitarch.

AS says Atletico have launched a search for a new sports chief - and would prefer someone with no link to the club.

Pitarch is expected to leave at the end of the season after a difficult 12 months.

He actually offered his resignation last term after defeat to Chelsea in the Champions League, which eventually cost coach Abel Resino his job.
