Atletico Madrid goalkeeper David de Gea has cooled talk of a move to Manchester United.
Sir Alex Ferguson missed his side's Carling Cup clash with Scunthorpe last week to cast his eye over Valencia - tomorrow's Champions League opponents - in a game against Atletico, but killed two birds with one stone by also watching the young stopper.
However, De Gea played down suggestions that Ferguson was watching him play.
"I learned [that Ferguson was there] the next day on TV and the news," said De Gea. "I think that rather than seeing me he was watching Valencia, who they are facing in the Champions League.
"The important thing is that I have a contract here and I'm an Atletico player until 2013. That's what matters.
"The truth is that everything is turning out well here, and I'm with my family and my friends, which is what I need. I think that is very important."
