Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois is open to returning to parent club Chelsea next season.

Courtois is currently on loan at Atletico Madrid and is on track to win the prestigious Zamora prize in La Liga for the keeper who has conceded fewest goals.

He said: "The clubs are talking. Atletico are content with me and I am happy here but Chelsea want to wait a bit, perhaps to let the new coach decide my future.

"They know how important it is for me to play. Being there with (Petr) Cech could mean I play less. Next season is important for me because it is a World Cup year."
