Atletico Madrid have joined the battle for Ajax defender Davison Sanchez.

The young Colombian international has been a revelation for Ajax this season, helping the club reach the Europa League final.

The defender has been linked with Barcelona and also is interesting Real Madrid.

However, Don Balon says Atletico have now stepped in for the youngster, where coach Diego Simeone has given the green light to the move.

Atletico see Sanchez as an eventual heir to Diego Godin and believe they can land the stopper for €30-35 million.
