Tottenham are ready to move for Diego Forlan after the striker was put up for sale by Atletico Madrid.
The Mirror says Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp had a £17million bid rejected in January for the former Manchester United man, who turns 32 next month.
But Forlan is ready to quit and Atletico president Enrique Cerezo has flown to Turkey to negotiate the possible sale of the South American to Besiktas.
With Spurs looking to strengthen their attack after going five games without a goal, the moves by Atletico open the door for White Hart Lane chairman Daniel Levy to intervene.
