Atletico Madrid are growing increasingly confident they have made a breakthrough in negotiations to sign Diego Costa from Chelsea.
Los Rojiblancos were unable to complete a deal for the Spain international due to a transfer ban, which will be lifted in January.
But according to Sky Sports, the La Liga club believe progress is being made in completing a deal - however, there is still some way to go.
Costa has been in exile since the end of last season after Antonio Conte told him he was not apart of his plans for the future.
Since then, Costa has been in his hometown of Lagarto in Brazil and has refused to return to London to train with Chelsea.
