Atletico Madrid are chasing Sporting Lisbon starlet Daniel Carrico.

Carrico, a central defender, has a £16 million buyout clause set in his current Sporting deal.

Quique Flores, Atletico's new coach, is aware of Carrico thanks to his time in charge of Benfica and has given the defender's signing his approval.
