Atletico Madrid are favourites to swoop for Birmingham City winger Sebastian Larsson.
Larsson is out of contract at the end of the season and has no shortage of admirers but Atletico are now favourites to land him.
Officials at the La Liga club have been told that Larsson would be open to a move to Spain, dashing Newcastle's hopes of reviving a deal for the 25-year-old.
Larsson was in negotiations with Newcastle back in January but failed to settle terms and Atletico have since sounded the Sweden international out over a move to Madrid.
