Diário de Notícias says Atletico have asked after Micael during negotiations for his Porto teammate Radamel Falcao.
Micael, 24, is under consideration by Atletico as an alternative to Wolfsburg midfielder Diego.
Despite the arrival of Arda Turan from Galatasaray, Atletico remain in the market for another attacking midfielder signing.
