Atletico Madrid are preparing an offer for Newcastle United winger Jonas Gutierrez.

The Sunday Sun says Atletico believe the presence of his friend and international team-mate Sergio Aguero at the Vicente Calderon stadium could prove tempting to Gutierrez.

"Spiderman" built massively on his popularity during Newcastle's march to the Championship title last season, with Atletico tracking his progress throughout.

But question marks remain against the 26-year-old's ability to fully adapt to the Premier League after a moderate maiden campaign on Tyneside in 2008/09.
