Atletico Madrid have dropped their compensation claim against FIFA over an injury suffered by Maxi Rodriguez.

Atletico were seeking £1.5 million after Maxi was injured playing for Argentina against Spain in 2006. But Atletico directors took advantage of FIFA president Sepp Blatter's visit to Madrid this week to make it clear they were ending their pursuit.
