Spanish club Atletico Madrid have come out and stated three of their in-demand stars are not for sale.

Strikers Sergio Aguero and Diego Forlan as well as Maxi Rodriguez are all being closely linked with English clubs but Atletico have confirmed the trio are happy in Spain.

"We spoke with 'Kun' [Aguero] in the last few weeks and he has given no indication that he wants to leave. He is happy at Atletico Madrid," said Atletico sporting director Jesus Garcia Pitarch.

"The player [Forlan] has stated his desire to remain at Atletico and his agent told us the same thing last week."

Pitarch also denied that Maxi could be heading for England during the summer.

"The player has a contract with us and we are certain he will be part of our plans for the new season," Pitarch added.

"At Atletico we are keen to improve our squad, not damage it with sales."

Aguero has been linked with a lucrative move to Chelsea whilst Forlan has Manchester City interested and Tottenham are in pursuit of Maxi.
