Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone is demanding victory over Champions League opponents Club Brugge.

Although Atletico's place in the last 16 of the Champions League is assured, Simeone is not taking his foot off the gas.

"You always have to go out and give your best and it is always best to win because we don't have a magic wand we can wave to know whether it would be better to finish first or second," he said at the pre-match press conference on Monday.

"It is clear that the start of these games are important and that's why the team will be set up accordingly."
