Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone was pleased with their 2-0 win over Athletic Bilbao.

Goals from Kevin Gameiro and Diego Costa made the difference at the Estadio Wanda Metropolitano as the hosts kept the gap between themselves and the Blaugrana at seven points.

"The best thing about these players is they work hard and fight for the common goal, that Atletico Madrid wins," he explained in his post-match press conference.

"When the club's leaders, players, coaching staff and fans are all together, there is a great chance of success.

"There will always be conflict because we are a family, however, we are all working towards the same goal."
