Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone is confident of Diego Costa's commitment.

The striker is being linked with a move to China as he recovers from foot surgery at home in Brazil.

"I hope that Diego [Costa] is like a great new signing for us in February," he said of the player, who is currently out injured.

"I have spoken to him and I'm close to his situation.

"I expect him to recover from his operation and be a major reinforcement for us in the final part of the season."

Simeone also touched on Diego Godin's new contract talks.

"With Godin, I always say the same and I hope that this situation is resolved in the best possible way.

"I believe that the club are doing their best and a resolution is expected in the near future."
