Atletico Madrid sports chief Jesus Garcia Pitarch has travelled to Brazil for talks with Palmeiras striker Keirrison.

Pitarch is currently in Sao Paulo, where he will see Keirrison make his Palmeiras debut against Sant Andre and after the game he will hold talks with Traffic, the company that controls the player's transfer rights.

Atletico want to move now in order to see off competition from bigger clubs. Pitarch is keen to do business over Keirrison for around £8 million, though the striker is rated closer to £16 million.
