Atletico Madrid chief Gil Marin won't "dissolve the Frente Atlético" after fatal ultras fight

Atlético Madrid's chief executive Miguel Ángel Gil Marín has offered his sympathy and condolences to the family of the 43-year-old man who was killed during a fight between ultras before yesterday's game with Deportivo La Coruna.

Gil spoke of his "repulsion and pain" over the violence, which involved around 200 people and resulted in several injuries, including to a policeman. Gil Marín stressed that the club had "taken measures to ensure that this shouldn't happen." However, when asked about the Frente Atlético, a hardcore group of radical ultras, Gil Marín said "I am not in a position to dissolve the Frente Atlético" and that the club "does not give them money or match tickets."

"There is always one son of a bitch among those 4,000," Gil Marín said in reference to the Frente Atlético. However, he stressed that generalizations should be avoided. "I have friends whose kids sit in the south stand and they are good, right-minded people."
