Atletico Madrid chasing Sporting Gijon defender Alberto Botia

Atletico Madrid are chasing Sporting Gijon defender Alberto Botia.

The youngster is regarded among Spain's brightest new defensive talents.

Botia is also wanted by former club Barcelona and Valencia ahead of the summer market.

El Mundo Deportivo says Atletico coach Diego Simeone has made a personal check on the centre-half and been impressed.
