Atletico Madrid are interested in Real Betis midfielder Dani Ceballos.

AS says Atletico see the youngster as a priority signing for 2017 as they seek to boost their midfield options.

And encouraging for Atleti fans, the deal is being driven by coach Diego Simeone, suggesting he's already planning for next season.

Ceballos fell out with former Betis coach Gus Poyet earlier this season, though is back in favour under Victor Sanchez.

He could arrive at Atletico as a direct replacement for the disappointing Nico Gaitan.
