Atletico Madrid have announced they are prepared to sell goalkeeper David De Gea at the end of the season.
De Gea has been linked with Manchester United as a direct replacement for the retiring Edwin van der Sar.
Atletico chief Miguel Angel Gil Marin admitted to Marca: "Clearly we will not actively do anything to try and make him leave.
"We've made it known that we would like him to continue playing here, but in the end it is down to the player to decide where he wants to play.
"If De Gea asked to leave Atletico, the club is not going to close the door."
