Atletico Madrid are interested in Manchester City midfielder Jack Rodwell.
El Mundo Deportivo says Atletico see Rodwell as an ideal replacement for Tiago Mendes, who is expected to sign for Chelsea.
Rodwell is in talks with City over his future and has also been linked with a return to Everton and Newcastle United.
The England midfielder has been plagued by injury during his time at City and is concerned over his playing chances after the arrival of Fernando from Porto.
Atletico coach Diego Simeone believes Rodwell's qualities would fit in well within his midfield and hopes regular Champions League football will convince the Englishman about a Madrid move.
