Atletico Madrid are eyeing Fenerbahce defender Diego Lugano.

AS says the Uruguay international is on Atletico's agenda after Sunday's dismal 4-3 defeat at home to Villarreal.

Atletico hadn't intended to strengthen their defence in January, but the recent glut of goals conceded by coach Javier Aguirre's team has forced a rethink.

Lugano, 27, is also attracting interest from Juventus and is rated in the £4 million class by Fenerbahce.
