Atletico Madrid and Chelsea will continue negotiations over a deal with Diego Costa, despite the summer market now shut.
The Daily Mail says Chelsea want more than £50 million to sell, while Atletico are offering closer to £40m.
Atletico are under a transfer embargo until January, so Costa would be unable to play for Diego Simeone's team anyway until the turn of the year.
The Spanish giants have urged Costa to leave his Brazilian hometown of Lagarto, where he has taken refuge this summer, and thrash matters out with Chelsea.
Chelsea registered Costa for the Premier League yesterday.
