Arsenal are chasing Athletic Bilbao midfielder Javi Martinez.
The Daily Star Sunday says Martinez is on Arsenal's radar as a possible replacement for Barcelona-bound Cesc Fabregas.
The £16million-rated Spanish Under-21s captain has previously been linked with Chelsea and Manchester United.
Martinez, 22, who recently signed a contract extension with the Basque club until 2016, was a member of Vicente Del Bosque's Spanish World Cup-winning squad last summer.
