Athletic Bilbao coach Ernesto Valverde says they're taking the Spanish Super Cup seriously.

Bilbao will meet Barcelona in the two-leg affair.

"We see the Supercup as a chance, as we did in the cup final," said Valverde.

"When you're in a final somebody has to lose, nobody wants to though and when it's against Barcelona you tend to say 'We always get them'. We're not an exception, we'll fight to get into many more finals and to keep on having these opportunities, at some point it'll come down on our side. As we are very persistent we'll see if it can be this time and if not, we'll keep trying."
