Athletic Bilbao coach Ernesto Valverde has turned down the Barcelona job.

Txingurri says Valverde was Barca's first-choice to succeed Tata Martino, before turning to Celta Vigo boss Luis Enrique.

However, Valverde rejected Barca's approach after speaking with their sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta.

The former Barca player will lead Athletic Bilbao into the Champions League next season.
