Atalanta starlet Ezequiel Schelotto admits he grew up idolising Juventus hero Mauro Camoranesi.
His career was set to take off in those very early years, but he fell off the radar until coming back with a bang in Bergamo.
"It makes me very proud that the Atalanta fans sing the same chant for me that they did for Claudio Caniggia. Claudio is a friend, but I mustn't get big-headed. It is an important and prestigious comparison.
"I feel in sporting terms very much Italian. When I left Argentina, I decided not to return again. My family is here and we're happy.
"I do hope for a call from Cesare Prandelli, as that would be the ultimate. I'd like to follow in the footsteps of Camoranesi, as he also grew up in the Banfield youth academy, is Italian-Argentine and a right-winger. I'm missing the final step, the Nazionale."
