Atalanta winger Adriano Ferreira Pinto has undergone successful knee surgery.

Ferreira Pinto went under the knife yesterday and is out for the rest of the season with an anterior cruciate ligament injury.

The next stage in the 29-year-old's rehabilitation is a two-week period of complete rest.

Then physiotherapy will begin and a painstaking six-month road to recovery with Ferreira Pinto expected to return to training in pre-season.
