Atalanta captain Cristiano Doni has had his appeal over his betting scandal ban rejected.
The former Italian international had asked the National Arbitration Tribunal for Sport (TNAS) to suspend the ban pending another appeal.
However, this evening it was confirmed the TNAS had rejected Doni’s request.
As part of the betting scandal, Atalanta were ordered to start the season from -6 points.
Teammate Tomas Manfredini was also suspended for three years, but then cleared on appeal.
