Atalanta are chasing Danubio midfielder Walter Gargano.
The 23 year-old is seen as a long-term replacement for Cristiano Doni, but Atalanta face competition from Fiorentina, Milan and Juventus for the Uruguayan.
Meanwhile, Atalanta are also seeking talks with Juventus over Alessio Tacchinardi, who is returning from Villarreal.
