Newcastle United are expected to table a bid for Atalanta striker Sergio Floccari in the next 24 hours.

Sportmediaset says Atalanta are bracing themselves for an offer of around £15 million for the Italy international to arrive from Newcastle either today or Thursday.

Atalanta president Alessandro Ruggeri is prepared to sell Floccari for the right price, but had planned to wait until June. However, Newcastle's imminent offer far outweighs any rival Serie A bid and Ruggeri knows now may be the time to cash in.
