Atalanta coach Gian Piero Gasperini: Juventus goals were avoidable

Atalanta coach Gian Piero Gasperini admits they gave Juventus too much space for defeat on Saturday.

Juve won 3-1 thanks to goals from .Alex Sandro, Daniele Rugani and Mario Mandzukic.

Gasperini said: "We won six consecutive matches, but Juventus are an extremely strong side and tonight was a test that will help us to grow for the future. It's the foundations for going forward.

“Unfortunately we conceded two avoidable goals on corners and only played well in fits and starts. We ran into a Juventus side that was fired up and extremely determined.

“We were in the right condition to have a good game here, so I don't know if it was Juve's strength that pushed us back or our psychological weakness, but we have to analyse what happened and learn from it.

"What most irritates me is that against Juve you need to play as a unit, not as individuals, but instead we lost many individual duels."
