Atalanta coach Gasperini: A most beautiful win over Roma

Atalanta coach Gian Piero Gasperini was delighted with their win over Roma on Saturday.

The Orobici won 2-1 at the Olimpico yesterday, despite playing the entirety of the second half with 10 men.

“It's the most beautiful win, maybe because it's the most recent," Gasperini told the club's official website.

“It's a satisfaction which comes after the one at Napoli, but it might be even better because of how it went. It gives us good moral and technical signals.

“We were able to suffer, to defend. Some players had to put in a huge amount of effort in these three very tiring games.

“Each half was a totally different game, but both were beautiful. Who knows where we'd be if we'd won against Cagliari too…

“It's a difficult, balanced league that will become more difficult for everyone in the second half. We're up there, and we're giving important signals.

“We'll try to fight on three fronts for as long as possible. If you look at the calendar it can make you go a bit pale, but we'll try to tackle it in the best way."
