Atalanta chief Marino calls for Serie A salary cap

Atalanta director Pierpaolo Marino would like to see a salary cap introduced to Serie A.

Serie B have announced a cap on player wages of no higher than €300,000.

"The attitude seems conscientious, especially considering the moment of financial crisis Italy is in," said Atalanta director general Marino.

"We ought to have a similar idea in Serie A, really. However, I am yet to understand how the clubs that are relegated into Serie B will fit in with those parameters."
