Aston Villa winger James Milner admits he stayed close to LA Galaxy's David Beckham during last week's England experience.
Milner said: "He and I play in a similar position so it's great to watch him in training and he will say things to you about what he thinks.
"He's not the only one. There are a lot of experienced players in the squad but he is always happy to help."
Milner's three caps have come quickly but he believes, with the talent in the squad to help him, he can progress and develop his game at Villa.
"It can be daunting coming into a squad with so much experience and massive names like Becks," he said. "I have got along very quickly and that's down to the quality of players I'm training with and how much they are willing to help.
"They really make you feel a part of it.
"For me it is just about trying to be the best I can on and off the field whether it be for England or Aston Villa. It is about making the most of what you've got and improving as well as you can."
