Aston Villa are waiting to hear from Chelsea over their loan offer for Patrick Bamford.

The Express & Star says Villa are waiting to hear whether their attempts to bring Bamford to the club on loan next season have been successful.

Villa boss Roberto Di Matteo still has contacts at Chelsea through his time as a player and manager with the Blues and is hoping to use them.

But new Chelsea chief Antonio Conte has yet to formally take charge and run the rule over all of his players, including 23-year-old Bamford.
